National Apprenticeship Week November 11-17 2019

Pearl River Community College (PRCC) celebrated National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) in November with a series of activities to promote work-based learning opportunities. Michael Yarbrough, workforce project manager and apprenticeship coordinator for PRCC, shares more about the institutions efforts to raise awareness of the value of apprenticeship programs.

Expanding Our Team and Our Reach

The Mississippi Apprenticeship Program’s has expanded its reach by adding three new members to our team. We are excited to announce the addition of these talented individuals whose work will help strengthen the state’s workforce by creating more opportunities for Mississippians to gain the skills they need to secure meaningful and financially rewarding careers.

Advancing High-quality Workforce Education Leadership in Mississippi

Michael Yarbrough, workforce project manager and apprenticeship coordinator for Pearl River Community College, was recently selected to participate in the National Council for Workforce Education’s New Workforce Professional Academy. Yarbrough is the only workforce professional selected from Mississippi to participate in the 2019-2010 academy.

Ingalls Apprentice Graduation

Since 1952, Ingalls Apprentice School has produced nearly 5,000 graduates trained to fulfill the shipyard’s operational needs. MCCB congratulates our MAP partner, Ingalls Shipbuilding, as they continue leading the way in innovative apprenticeship training.
